For my professor prop project, I decided to create a sagittal view of the brain and key structures for my psychobiology professor. I also have a fascination in particular with the studies of neurology and neuropsychology, therefore I thought it would be super fun to create this and create something my professor can use in lecture to physically show these brain structures.
I began my project by importing an image of a sagittal section of the brain and began tracing the intricate details and lines of the structures. I traced the sulci and gyri (lines and crevices), the corpus callosum, the brain stem including the pons, and the intricate details of the circular structure on the back of the brain known as the cerebellum.
Once the tracing was complete using the “L” hotkey for making the lines, I began to extrude structures of the brain.
After extruding the structures, I utilized the fillet feature using the “F” key to round out the rough edges, creating a more subtle, realistic, and soft look. I filleted the crevices of the brain and some structures.
