The Pentagon

Inspiration –

The inspiration for this piece came from my search to find deeper meaning in everything. I always try to look at things in different ways, and try to think of them as both simple and complex. I feel like The Pentagon in Washington, DC is a good representation, as it could be viewed as just a large pentagon with some hole in the middle, but it also a very important building in the U.S., as it is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense.

Process –

I took an image of the top of the pentagon from google and sketched the outline of the pentagon and I outlined the holes I would make through the pentagon. I then took a side picture and created that outline. I then extruded up to create the Pentagon, cut out the holes, and then mirrored , and created a circular pattern around the pentagon.
